NorthEast Christian Learning Academy is a private daycare center that is a part of NorthEast Christian Church In Hamburg. Our goal is to provide the absolute best care for children six weeks to five years old. Our commitment to families and children is at the forefront of what we do here.
NorthEast Christian Learning Academy is actively seeking applicants who are committed to fostering the growth, development, and education of our students.
All applicants Must:
- Have experience working with young children
- Be kind, respectful, reliable, punctual, nurturing, and be a team player
- Be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Have a clear criminal background check
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
- Negative TB test
- Must meet 15 hours worth of training requirements put in place by the state of Kentucky’s Licensing program by the end of the school year. Must complete the required orientation trainings listed below within 90 days of hire: “ECOOL” Orientation Training through UK’s HDI Learning Program and the “Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma” through EKU

P.E. Teacher
Job Opening: P.E. Teacher
School Year: 2024-2025
P.E. Teacher Job Description:
The Physical Education Teacher at The Academy is responsible for planning and implementing physical education activities, as well as monitoring students while in class. Physical Education at The Academy generally emphasizes working on gross motor-related skills, movement patterns, games, and fitness activities. Other responsibilities of the P.E. teacher may include and/or are not limited to the following:
- Prepare/set up the gym prior to the beginning of each school day
- Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social,
and emotional development of students. - Prepare and implement lesson plans, providing appropriate learning experiences for each student.
- Creating accommodations for students who need them
- Establish and enforce rules of conduct; supervise students in the gymnasium or other common areas.
- Demonstrate skills being taught; assist students in performing skills.
- Teach safety rules related to each activity.
- Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Be willing to step in and substitute in any classroom (as needed)
All Academy Staff Must:

Float Teacher
Job Opening: Float Teacher
School Year: 2024-2025
Float Teacher Job Description:
The Float Teacher has the primary responsibility to be willingly adaptable and flexible to meet the specific and unanticipated needs for classroom coverage in any of the rooms at The Academy as a substitute teacher. A floater teacher has the secondary responsibility of supporting the classroom teaching team in providing a safe, nurturing environment where children have the opportunity to develop their cognitive, physical, and social-emotional capacity through exploratory play and learning. The floater teacher follows the leadership of the primary teacher of the classroom and is expected to maintain a positive learning environment for the children. The float teacher will provide support to the primary classroom teachers as requested, and Other responsibilities may include and/or are not limited to the following:
- Assist staff, as needed, in the classroom
- Assist with daily classroom activities and routines
- Participate in lunch and playground duty
- To enforce Academy rules while outside the classroom (i.e., in the hallways, playground, and church gym)
- Support primary teachers with the implementation of curriculum and
lesson plans - Guide students and aid with individual needs using behavior management
techniques - Protect the safety and health of children by following classroom rules and
procedures - Supervise children by continually remaining within sight and sound
- Set up snacks, assist children, and clean up after snacks
- Create safe and appropriate diapering, toileting, and handwashing areas and help
children with all personal hygiene skills; - Maintain confidentiality
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Perform other duties as assigned

Assistant Teacher | Three-Year Old Classroom
Job Opening: Assistant Teacher | Three-Year Old Classroom

Assistant Teacher Job Description:
Provide support to the Lead Teacher as requested. Other responsibilities of a teacher assistant may include and/or are not limited to the following:
- Assist staff, as needed, in the classroom
- Assist with daily classroom activities and routines
- Participate in lunch and playground duty to enforce rules outside the classroom
- Support lead teachers with the development and implementation of curriculum and
lesson planning - Helping to prepare materials for the day’s activities
- Reading, singing, and playing with children as directed by the teacher
- Guide students and aid with individual needs using behavior management
- Protect the safety and health of children by closely following classroom rules and
procedures - Supervise children by continually remaining within sight and sound
- Set up food and snacks, assist children, and clean up after snacks
- Create safe and appropriate diapering, toileting, and handwashing areas and help
children with all personal hygiene skills - Maintains confidentiality
- Maintains a safe and healthy environment
- Perform digital reporting (ProCare app) associated with the classroom.
- Participate in staff and training meetings
- Be timely and efficient
